PROJECT OVERVIEW
This project involved designing a dining room for a newly purchased condo. The client was eager to decorate and had a strong sense of the aesthetic they were drawn to, with inspiration rooted in bold choices and rich, moody design.
DESIGN INTENT
The intent was to translate the client’s inspiration into a cohesive, intentional space that felt expressive yet refined. Rather than tempering the boldness, the goal was to lean into it—creating a dining room that felt unexpected, confident, and distinctly personal.
KEY CHALLENGES
While the client had a clear design direction, they struggled to bring individual ideas together into a unified space. The challenge was creating cohesion among bold colors, strong forms, and layered elements without the room feeling disjointed or overwhelming.
DESIGN APPROACH
A moody color palette was used to establish atmosphere, supported by warm finishes and sculptural furnishings that added depth and interest. Each element was selected with intention, ensuring that scale, material, and tone worked together cohesively rather than competing for attention.
The layout and styling emphasized contrast and balance, allowing the space to feel dramatic while remaining grounded and livable.
OUTCOME
The finished dining room feels confident, layered, and complete. What began as a collection of inspiration images was transformed into a space that feels purposeful and elevated—bold without being chaotic, and expressive without losing cohesion.
