You're comfortable managing the project yourself, but there are decisions you're second-guessing, details you're worried you may have missed, or areas where you simply want a professional opinion before committing.
That's exactly what the Private Design Intensive is for.

What we can cover
Every project is different, so every Intensive is different. We'll focus your time on the questions, selections and decisions where Alex's perspective will be most useful.
The Intensive is an advisory service. It does not include detailed sourcing, drawings, renderings, construction documentation, procurement or ongoing project coordination.
How it works
Complete a pre-session questionnaire and upload your plans, inspiration, current selections and the questions you'd most like to work through.
Alex reviews your materials before you meet so she already understands your project, what you've selected so far and where you need the most help.
Meet privately with Alex for 90 minutes over Google Meet to work through your project, questions and priorities.
You'll receive the session recording along with a concise recap of the recommendations and action items discussed during your session.
Meet Alex
Alex Bucklin is the founder and principal designer of Bucklin Design Co., a residential interior design firm working across new construction, renovations and furnishings.
Her approach considers both the big picture and the smaller decisions that can have an outsized impact on how a home ultimately looks, feels and functions. The Private Design Intensive gives homeowners managing their own projects the opportunity to bring those decisions directly to Alex and get her perspective before moving forward.

Is this the right service?
Before you book
Possibly, but the session is 90 minutes, so we'll prioritize the areas and decisions where you need the most help. If you're looking for BDC to develop a complete design direction for your home, Full-Service Interior Design will likely be the better fit.
Alex can review selections you've already made and may suggest alternatives or specific products during your session. The Intensive does not include a separate sourcing package or product list after the session.
You'll be able to send plans, elevations, photos, inspiration, current selections, product links and the questions you'd like to discuss. The goal is to give Alex enough context to review your project before your session so your time together can be focused on the decisions you actually need help with.
An Intensive can be especially useful in the early stages, before major plans, selections or construction decisions are finalized. You do need enough information about your project for Alex to meaningfully review it before the session.
Yes, if there are specific design questions where their input would be useful. The Intensive is intended to remain a design-focused working session rather than a general project meeting.
You'll receive the recording along with a concise written recap of the recommendations and action items discussed. From there, you'll be able to move forward with the project and implement the recommendations yourself.
Yes. If new questions or decisions come up as your project progresses, you can book another Intensive.
If you're looking for BDC to develop the design, source selections or remain involved throughout the project, Full-Service Interior Design may be a better fit. You can explore Full Service and submit an application separately.
